Alumni and Donors

Monterey Peninsula College has touched most families on the Monterey Peninsula.

If you asked a room full of people who among them had graduated or taken a class from MPC, you would find almost every hand go up.

MPC Alumni represent the leaders, business people, landowners, entrepreneurs, dental assistants, police and firemen, chefs, accountants…(we could go on and on) in this community.

Alumni of this college are an enthusiastic and influential group that enjoys getting together and reconnecting with each other and with the college. Their activities include the Alumni Lecture Series, the MPC Alumni Homecoming Reunion and Celebration Barbeque and the Lobo Hall of Fame.

The MPC Alumni Committee provides a variety of benefits and services that help alumni maintain connections to their educational institution and their colleagues.

The MPC Alumni Committee is committed to uniting alumni for the purpose of promoting the interests of MPC, its alumni, current and future students, and of serving the community at large.

In 2010 Alumni focused their fundraising efforts on establishing an Alumni Scholarship Fund and raised $10,000 toward this effort. Through the MPC Foundation, in 2011-12 the Alumni Committee will be distributing ten $1000 scholarships to matriculating high school seniors and/or continuing students of MPC.

We welcome your involvement!

  • I took my first class at MPC in the mid-1970’s. I was applying to Art Center and to Brooks Institute and needed to submit a portfolio of photographs. The skills I learned from them were invaluable and resulted in my being accepted at both schools. For the last 35 years, I have enjoyed a rewarding life in photography, and the first brick in the foundation of my career was laid at MPC. In the years since, I have taken many other classes, including French, piano, film, golf, and the architecture of the Monterey Peninsula, all of which have enriched my life. Perhaps the best part of my MPC experience is the many friends that came from taking those classes, and they still form the core of my life in Monterey today.

  • The courses that we took certainly helped us in establishing our business. Also, the experiences we had at MPC with our instructors and coaches helped build our character and these are the things that carried us. Those experiences proved to be enormous assets in our lives.

  • Mel MasonTo me, my crowning achievement at MPC did not come on the basketball court, but as a graduate of this great college. The education I received at MPC laid the groundwork for me to have a successful life involving a number of endeavors, to include being a counselor, educator and a political activist. I am proud to say I am an Alumnus of MPC. In fact, I am MPC.
