Most recently, for the 2026–2027 academic year, the MPC Foundation awarded an unprecedented
$568,000 in Scholarships to nearly 300 students. That’s nearly double the amount awarded in 2020 and almost
19 times the approximately $30,000 awarded annually in the program’s early years around
2010, reflecting the tremendous growth of the scholarship program and the generosity of
our donors.
"As a first-generation college student, taking this step into higher education is
a big deal for both me and my family. Once I start my career as a registered nurse,
I want to be someone who helps the next generation of students."

2026 Scholarship Recipient
With the support of the life-changing Evans College Incentive Program, 50 high school seniors were given the opportunity to continue their education in 2025. Isabella is a great example of what this program is all about. As a current MPC student
and student worker with FYE (First Year Experience) and ASMPC (Associated Students
of Monterey Peninsula College), she is gaining hands-on work experience while enjoying
her college experience.
"Before receiving support from the Evans Program, I struggled with balancing classes
while working, now Evans supports help me by easing my financial stress so I can be
more present."

Internships help students clarify career goals, build professional networks, gain
valuable skills and experience, and ultimately lead to job placement. MPC facilitated
31 internship placements throughout the community in 2025, while the Foundation paid more than $14,000 in stipends to ensure students with challenging economic circumstances could participate
in these valuable experiences.
"I am overly dedicated to setting a great example for my children in every aspect of
life. This scholarship is greatly appreciated and will be used to help me be a better
asset to my community."
Meaningful Legacies
We are honored by the support of a growing number of Legacy Society members who remember
the MPC Foundation in their estate plans. In 2023, we received generous legacy gifts
from Phi Ho Nguyen and Laura Mignano. Mr. Nguyen attended MPC in 1963-64 as a first generation college student. His inspirational
gift to support STEM students resulted in the naming of MPC’s Anatomy Laboratory after
his parents, Anna and Andrew Nguyen, as well as a scholarship endowment.
Committed to Stewardship
We take great care to carefully steward the resources entrusted to us. The chart below
shows how your donations were distributed among our various programs in 2025, which
collectively benefit students’ learning outcomes.
Thanks to your support, the Foundation’s assets exceed $16 million as of December 31, 2025. We are so grateful that you are helping to grow our organization ensuring support
for future generations of MPC students!
