Changing a Life Changes Our Community

When a student earns a scholarship, it’s a turning point. It’s the spark that pushes them to finish a degree and step into a career that supports their family. Year after year, MPC scholarships ripple outward into stronger individuals who change the trajectory of their families and enhance our local economy.

The MPC Foundation manages a large diverse scholarship program. Approximately $700,000 in awards are granted each year to current students and incoming high school graduates, ranging from one-time boosts to multi-year scholarships and support and engagement opportunities. Every scholarship is thoughtfully managed: funds are used exactly as intended, recipients are carefully selected, and donors are part of the process, so they see the real-world impact of their generosity.

Many donors choose to name a scholarship after a family member, mentor, or friend who shaped their life. Some want their gift to start helping students right away. Others want it to last for generations. Both are deeply personal ways to carry a legacy forward, and we make the process straightforward and meaningful.

We offer two types of individual scholarship fund options, described below, as well as the ability to contribute any amount to a pooled scholarship fund that leverages multiple donors’ contributions together.

One-Time or Annual Named Scholarships

For just $1000, you can establish a named scholarship at MPC that:

Allows you to choose the scholarship name and criteria
Offers flexibility, with the option to renew annually
Is a great place to start while considering a longer-term fund like an endowment

Endowed Named Scholarships

Establishing an endowed scholarship ensures your named scholarship will continue in perpetuity. For just $10,000, you can establish an endowed scholarship fund that:

Allows you to choose the scholarship name and criteria
Are responsibly invested and provide annual awards in perpetuity for a sustainable impact
Can be built over time through multiple contributions, including friends and family contributions

General Scholarship Fund

Anyone can make a gift of any amount towards student scholarships at MPC by investing in our General Scholarship Fund. This fund allows us to maximize award flexibility to ensure that deserving students with financial need are sufficiently recognized and supported in their educational goals.
